Well the 2 month mark has passed and the 3 month is slowly creeping in. My dear Blakely keeps getting bigger and bigger. In the last month alot of things have happened, from her sitting on her bumbo chair to me taking her to her doctor appointment on my own. (I am happy to let yall know that it went great) I was told by the doctor that she is as healthy as she can be, he also told me that she was bigger than 75% of other baby's her age. Did he tell me she was healthy just to get me ready for the news that my child has grown faster than others? I think so.
Maybe growing faster is not a bad thing, last week we heard her say "mom", everyone in the room stopped doing what they were doing and got quiet for a second. Did she just say that? yes she did.. There have been a few other times when we think she is saying something but then again... come on, she is only 11 weeks old how can she possibly be saying things?

Here are a few pictures that have been taken in the past few weeks in order from oldest on top to the newst one at the end of this post. Hope you enjoy.

My Little Star Turns 1 Month

Blakely Rhyan is finally 1 month old, she is growing too fast! Just a week or so ago, her umbilical cord fell off and at that moment I knew it was all over. Then it was time for her first "Big Girl Bath" (as Karen called it). What???? Big Girl?? What's next? College? Marriage? She is not a big girl yet... she is still my tiny little star.

Blakely is beggining to get a little attitude. Rumor has it that she only likes to be held and does not appreciate it when she gets put down. Usually by the time I get home from work she is always sleeping, so I only see her for the little angel that I think she is... and I like it that way.

Here are few pictures we took of her on her 1 month B-day

Farewell Texas Stadium

Last weekend we took a family trip to Texas Stadium. I've always wanted to take the stadium tour but never did get around to doing so. As some of you might know the new Cowboys stadium will open in June of this year and i can only imagine what is going to happen to the old one. All I know is that I have so many memories there, many good times and many not so good. When Wade Phillips took the field on his first home game I was there, when Romo threw his first interception I was there to see it it happen.

Every game I watched the players run out of that tunnel and always imagined what that would feel like. Well I finally got the chance to find out. I actually felt like a kid going to the candy store for the first time. At the begging of the tour I asked our tour guy if we were going to go down the tunnel and he looked at me and smiled and said "right after we go to their locker room." WOW, not only do I get to see parts of the stadium that i have never seen but I will also get to go down the tunnel. Now that is something I will never forget.

here are a few pictures that we took while we were there.

Blakely was not very happy that I was picking her up from the star..... ok maybe she didnt want to sit in it by herself.

Well, after all was done this was me and blakely taking our last walk through the exit gates :(

here are some pictures that i took of Blakely and I on the way home.

who says a Mexican can't have a blue eyed baby :)

as you can see on this picture she was not to happy that we had to leave.

She Is Finally here

After a rough pregnancy the day that alot of us have been waiting for finally arrived. Blakely Rhyan Gomez Is here, she was born thursday Jan 8th at 5:13 pm. She was 6lb 13oz 20 inches long.

Today, sunday, she is 3 days old and she looks completely different than she did the day she was born. Its amazing how fast these past few days have gone by. While Karen was at the hospital I went down to the cafeteria to get some lunch and there was a guy sitting at the table next to me. We started talking and he told me about his two daughters and how he still remembered when his oldest was first born.
He gave some advise... to take alot of pictures because kids grow up fast and time will fly in front of my eyes. He also told me not to ever turn my back on my children because there is not ever going to be a good enough reason of why I shouldn't support what they do. I thanked the guy for the advise and now i can see what he meant about everything he told me.
Memories are worth a million smiles, and a picture can and will make it even more priceless. Today we gave Blakely her first bath at home. It was exciting and scary at the same time. Karen started, I came in to help and then Nonnie came in to finish up. This is a once in a lifetime experience, yes she will continue to receive baths for the rest of her life, but the first one only happens once.

I am excited about this new chapter in my life and I cant wait for all those first time every-things that are yet to come.

here are a few pics of her first times so far

Its Happening Right Now!!!!

Those were Karen's words after she started to have some different kind of pains yesterday. Yesterday was a busy day, I had an appointment in downtown Dallas at 1 and had to be back to get Karen by 230 to go to her doctor appointment in Fort Worth. Talk about a stressful drive on the way to to my appointment, all I kept telling myself was "please dont get stuck in traffic, please dont get stuck in traffic". After I was done with my stuff I rushed home to get Karen and of course she was not ready. I had to help her put on her socks, for some reason that is one thing that women have trouble doing once the belly starts getting bigger. When we finally made it to the doctors office I did the same routine that I always do,

*sit in the lobby while karen checks in
*Once She gets called and they check her weight I look the opposite way (not because I want to but because im told to)
*as soon as we walk in the room sit in the chair in the corner
*once the doctor starts talking I sit there and pretend like I know what she is talking about.

Once we finally left the doctors office we headed to Smoothie King to visit Casey
(Karen's brother in law). While we waited for our order Karen started to have a different kind of pain than the so called braxton hicks contractions and she literally thought that she was about to go in labor. We both stayed calm and debated on going back to the doctors office located in the Hospital. After a few calls to the doctors office we finally decided to go home.
It was exciting and scary at the same time, I think I handled the false 'going into labor' deal pretty well. I stayed calm and I was ready to do whatever it took.

Her next appointment is on Christmas Eve. Karen is hoping that they will give her the good news and admit her in that day. I dont think it will happen like that. She has a month to go until her due date...... Then my little princess will be here, Finally.

Another weekend has come and gone and Karen and I continue to prepare for miss Blakelys arrival. Last week we finally purchased my diaper bag (man-bag.) I want to get blakelys name monogramed on the side at some point so everyone will know who my little princess is. Im still learning what all goes in the bag and where everything is suppose to be so whenever i need to get something out I will know exactly where it is at all times. On Thanksgiving night I went and saw '4 Christmases' at the movies.  In one scene a baby projectile vomited all over Reese Witherspoon.  I realized after seeing that, that I need to be prepared for any situation... so my man bag will be stocked and ready to handle anything that Blakely sends my way (literally).

We added another girly touch to the nursery this past week. Instead of spending hundreds of dollars on a real chandelier we decided to buy a chandelier decal. Not only is it cool looking but it was also pretty easy to put up. Im saying it was easy because i didn't help much putting it on the wall. Thank you Cindy for taking the time to make sure it was straight while I watched football. At the beginning I was trying to help but I kept getting in trouble (by karen, the supervisor) so I decided to let the pro take over.

Laundry has taken on a new meaning in this house. We decided to go ahead and wash everything... from clothes, burp cloths, wash cloths, towels, sheets, blankets and pretty much anything else that the baby will come in contact with. Not only did we spend a whole night hanging and folding stuff we still have one more basket to put up and one more load to wash. It wasn't till then that I realized how many clothes she actually has.

Last but not least, thanksgiving :) what a day, Karen's family was in from out of town and it was fun to have the kids around for a while.
There was alot of yelling and alot of running around which meant there was never a dull moment. The night before Thanksgiving I was assigned the task of helping cook the turkey. This meant I unwrapped it, cleaned it, stuffed it  and put it in the oven. All this under supervision of course.

After we all had a wonderful lunch David and I headed  to Texas Stadium to go watch some Cowboys Football. For those of you that know me well know that my favorite thing about going to the Cowboys game, besides watching the game itself, is to watch my favorite cheerleader....
Meredith (the red head).  Our seats were great for this game, and I had a great view of Meredith from my seat.... that is until some idiot with a big SIGN stood up and blocked my view....the ENTIRE time she was on our side of the field.  I wanted to go down there and take his sign away from him but he just had to be a cowboys fan so I kept hoping that he would sit down (which he never did).
