Another weekend has come and gone and Karen and I continue to prepare for miss Blakelys arrival. Last week we finally purchased my diaper bag (man-bag.) I want to get blakelys name monogramed on the side at some point so everyone will know who my little princess is. Im still learning what all goes in the bag and where everything is suppose to be so whenever i need to get something out I will know exactly where it is at all times. On Thanksgiving night I went and saw '4 Christmases' at the movies.  In one scene a baby projectile vomited all over Reese Witherspoon.  I realized after seeing that, that I need to be prepared for any situation... so my man bag will be stocked and ready to handle anything that Blakely sends my way (literally).

We added another girly touch to the nursery this past week. Instead of spending hundreds of dollars on a real chandelier we decided to buy a chandelier decal. Not only is it cool looking but it was also pretty easy to put up. Im saying it was easy because i didn't help much putting it on the wall. Thank you Cindy for taking the time to make sure it was straight while I watched football. At the beginning I was trying to help but I kept getting in trouble (by karen, the supervisor) so I decided to let the pro take over.

Laundry has taken on a new meaning in this house. We decided to go ahead and wash everything... from clothes, burp cloths, wash cloths, towels, sheets, blankets and pretty much anything else that the baby will come in contact with. Not only did we spend a whole night hanging and folding stuff we still have one more basket to put up and one more load to wash. It wasn't till then that I realized how many clothes she actually has.

Last but not least, thanksgiving :) what a day, Karen's family was in from out of town and it was fun to have the kids around for a while.
There was alot of yelling and alot of running around which meant there was never a dull moment. The night before Thanksgiving I was assigned the task of helping cook the turkey. This meant I unwrapped it, cleaned it, stuffed it  and put it in the oven. All this under supervision of course.

After we all had a wonderful lunch David and I headed  to Texas Stadium to go watch some Cowboys Football. For those of you that know me well know that my favorite thing about going to the Cowboys game, besides watching the game itself, is to watch my favorite cheerleader....
Meredith (the red head).  Our seats were great for this game, and I had a great view of Meredith from my seat.... that is until some idiot with a big SIGN stood up and blocked my view....the ENTIRE time she was on our side of the field.  I wanted to go down there and take his sign away from him but he just had to be a cowboys fan so I kept hoping that he would sit down (which he never did).

Tick Tock Tick Tock

Does anyone ever notice how fast time passes by? I look back in time and realize that I have no idea where time went. It seems like it was just the other day when I received a call from Karen asking me to buy her a pregnancy test on my way home.
I also remember how exciting it was to hear the baby's heart beat for the first time.
Time is passing by faster than i seem to be able to keep up with it. Karen had a doctors appointment last week, and we found out that she is starting to dilate... 1/2 cm to be exact. Its happening, the baby is coming and she will be here any day.
The baby closet is running out of room and the nursery is getting closer to being done. i need to pack my bag so when the day comes I will be ready to go.

Is It time yet?

The time is getting closer and closer, Blakely will be here before we know it and when that happens Im going to kiss my nighty night time goodbye. I try to get as much sleep as possible right now but there are days where that is just not possible. Last night for example, Karen was tossing and turning and complaining about how she could not get comfortable. Needless to say I kept waking up with her. I had been up since 5am the day before and I did not get home from work until midnight so when I hit the bed I was tired! Karen complained and cried and as much as I wanted to stay awake to talk to her I just couldn't keep my eyes open. My only worry was what if Blakely decides to come early... how am I going to drive when I can't even keep my eyes open? The next morning around 4am I woke up to Karen's angry voice screaming at Molly. 'What did the cat do?' I asked myself. Well, it turns out that she wanted to get out of the room and the door was closed so she was banging her head on the door. I think she was just trying to get away from Karen and she knew that if she woke one of us up she would get her way. She did, but not in a good way. Karen grabbed my poor Molly and tossed her out the door, apparently Karen had just fallen asleep a few minutes before and Molly woke her back up and that really made Karen mad.

* Leason learned last night: Never wake up an angry pregnant woman when she finally falls asleep.

On a different subject, last monday Karen and I went to David's house to pick up some tools. David just moved into an apartment and I'm going to keep his tools until he buys another house. While I was loading the truck I gave Karen an old chair with some brown paper on top for her to sit on. When I was done I helped her up and I looked down and there was some water spots on the brown paper...... My first thought was Did her water break? Is it time? Luckily we were down the street from the Hospital. Karen went inside the house to check herself and it turns out that her water didnt break, the chairs cushion was wet and it went through the paper.... :) Good Laugh

Latest with Blakely: Blakely kicks alot now, but for some reason when I put my hand on Karen's belly she stops kicking. Do I calm her down? or do I make her nervous?

Today was the big day.  After waiting all day we finally headed to get Karen's 3d/4d ultrasound and it sure was worth the wait. When we arrived at the doctors office I didn't know what to expect, once we went inside the room and the technician turned the lights off I knew I was in for a ride.
It all started with a regular ultrasound (the typical black and white kind where you can never tell what is what). A few seconds later there she was!!!!! Miss Blakely was on the screen sleeping like a little angel. As the lady kept messing with Karen's belly to make Blakely move I started to cry, luckily the lights were off and no one was paying attention to me. She is a beautiful little thing curled up in there, no wonder she has been kicking alot, she is asking for more room. After all I wouldnt want to have my foot close to my head at all times.
Can babies cry inside the belly? According to the lady, they can. They have feelings and pretty much do everything from throwing a temper tantrum (which we saw blakely do) to adopt a personality (which she has).
Blakely is due on january 16, will she make it till then? we shall wait and see......

The BIG 30 week mark

We are finally in the 30's , (weeks that is) not only is this a big accomplishment but it is also a very exciting week. Tomorrow we get to see our little princess in a 4d ultrasound and we are really hoping that she is still a girl, after all we have put a lot of time into her nursery and it would be a shame for no one to enjoy it.
One thing that i have noticed lately is that karen is getting a lot bigger. Apparently, this is the time when blakely really starts to grow fast and from the looks of it I am growing along with her. Molly is also growing, she has gained 2 Lbs. in the past month according to her vet. I am not sure if molly and I are just gaining sympathy weight or if we are enjoying some of karens cravings . (molly begs for chips and cookies when she sees karen eating them).

Lesson #1

So I learned how to drive a tractor..... I also learned how to quickly jump off a tractor when it catches on fire and proceeds to burn almost 4 acres of grass

Hopefully lesson #2 of driving a tractor doesnt result in having to call the fire department. (from 3 different counties)
